Mosquito Repellents
Your carbon dioxide emissions, body odor, and body heat are what attract mosquitoes to your body. The warmer your body is during your sleep, the bigger the chance mosquitoes will pick you. When you go to sleep, your body temperature drops. However, the introduction of mosquito repellants has been produced to prevent mosquitoes from accessing and biting you which further avoids malaria.
Mosquito Repellent works to confuse and interfere with the receptors on a mosquito’s antennae, which deters mosquitoes from landing on the skin and biting. These receptors are used to detect body heat, carbon dioxide, and skin chemicals when seeking out prey.
Using mosquito repellents, particularly those containing active ingredients like DEET, picaridin, or IR3535, is generally safe for the skin when used correctly. However, some people might experience mild skin irritation or allergic reactions to these repellents.
Like any other commercial creams, mosquito repellents also contain chemicals that can be harmful to your skin if you use them copiously. Some of the ingredients found in the repellents are toxic in nature, and you need only to use them occasionally for a short period
They can cause skin irritation, allergies, inflammation, rashes, and dizziness, and can make it difficult to concentrate on regular activities. If applied on the lips, can cause numbing and burning. If ingested, the mosquito repellent can cause poisoning.
The mosquito Repellent cream has however done more good than harm as it has actively worked to prevent mosquitoes from biting and causing subsequent illness to the body.
