GREENBOOK: NAFDAC Introduces App to Verify Registered Drugs

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has introduced an online app with a database to verify all the medications it has registered.

The online app, called “Greenbook,” is accessible via the web among others.

The Director General, NAFDAC, Prof. Moji Adeyeye, revealed this during the launch at the NAFDAC office in the Isolo area of Lagos State on Wednesday.

Adeyeye said, “It is a repository of NAFDAC-registered drugs. This momentous occasion symbolises a significant milestone in our commitment to delivering quality, efficacious, and easily verifiable products to the market.”

The platform’s objective is to provide information on a specific drug to the broader public.

The Green Book app was created to help patients, medical practitioners, and health providers, check the status of any medicine that is brought to them, maybe purchased or intended to be purchased.

And also to confirm the registration status of any pharmaceutical product, ensuring that the manufacturer of the product conforms to good manufacturing practices.

The app can be accessed on phone, web, or laptops and computer systems from the comfort of your home.
